A Different Aesthetic

A Martha Stewart bedroom using Faux Bamboo

While our tastes usually run primitive or early 20th century, we saw some Aesthetic Movement faux bamboo pieces at a recent auction and were quite taken with the look- although the details looked to be delicate bamboo, these honey-colored pieces were solid hardwood and in impeccable condition. Elegant and sturdy, we've thought about them since and featured similar here with a gorgeous book recently sold at Cowan's- Customs and Costumes of the Chinese by Grohmann.

In our search for the perfect wood stove, we've been finding lots of reference photos of stoves with pipes that extend right up to the ceiling.
