It's What's Inside That Counts

Swedish artist Helga Steppan arranged her personal objects by color for her 2008 series, See Through--a chronicle of her persona behind doors and drawers. We paired them with the inside of fruits and vegetables at the Westside Market for an idea of what's behind the "skin."

Timeless Americana

We've turned up some lost moments in time during our travels on county routes and one lane highways--motels and burgers joints, drive-ins and drive-ups (groceries that is). Artist Jeffrey Neumann has captured some of these moments in his oil and watercolor works, that remind us just how close our nation's present is to the past.

Tasty Palettes

A trip to the Chelsea Market this weekend got us thinking about warm taupes, creamy whites and soft grays. Here's some of our inspiration...

Oyster Mushrooms at Manhattan Fruit Exchange paired with Farrow & Ball Wimborne White, Green Ground and Stone White.

Bulbs of Garlic at Manhattan Fruit Exchange paired with Farrow & Ball Pointing, James White and Bone.

Fresh Mackerel at The Lobster Place paired with Farrow & Ball All White, Blackened and Blue Gray.
